Setúbal is located hinterland, which includes all the main production centers south of the River Mondego in Spanish Extremadura.

Setúbal has a rapid direct international road and rail links. It is also accessible by sea. The public terminals are set up to perform varying duties such as accepting Roll-on/Roll-off freight, containerized freight and bulk cargo.

1. Terminal Zone 1 – TERSADO

TERSADO handles general break bulk cargo, Roll-on/Roll-off cargo, solid bulk cargo and containers . The wharf is 864 meters (2,835 feet) long. This port contains a Roll-on/Roll-off slope of 30 meters (98 feet) wide. The covered storage area is 2,116 square meters and the uncovered storage area is 102,000 square meters. 102,000 square meters(334,646 feet) of uncovered storage area.

2. Terminal Zone 2 – SADOPORT

SADOPORT handles general break bulk cargo, heavy Roll-on/Roll-off cargo and containers. The wharf is 725 meters (2,379 feet) long. There is 1,619 square meters of covered storage area and 200,779 square meters of uncovered storage area.

AUTOEUROPA is located at SADOPORT. It is designed to handle Roll-on/Roll-off cargo specifically. The wharf is 365 meter (1,198 feet) long and contains a Roll-on/Roll-off slope. The uncovered storage dedicated to AUTOEUROPE is 60,000 square meters.

3. SAPEC

The SAPEC terminal is designed to handle solid and liquid bulk cargo. The wharf is 112 meter (367 feet) long. It allows vessels up to 200 meters (656 feet) long with 10,5 meters of draught to berth. There is 25,000 square meters of leveled ground uncovered storage.

4. Liquid Bulk Terminal

The liquid bulk terminal has a berth composed of three dolphins, two for berthing and one for mooring. The berth is built to accommodate 190 meters (623 feet) long vessels with draughts up to -9,5 meters.
