Port Salford, located in Greater Manchester in North West England, is a port currently (as of June 2011) in development. The Port will become a multimodal freight terminal with a full range of freight services. At 1.1 million square feet, this port will be served by rail and highway, and stocked with warehousing and a 20-acre container terminal.
The port buttresses the Manchester Ship Canal and is approximately one kilometer from Junction 11. It will contact to the Manchester/Liverpool railway. Being adjacent to the Manchester Ship Canal will allow ships of up to 500 TEU capacity to load/unload.
