Definition:
The FMCSA is a division of the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT). FMCSA was established on January 1, 2000 in accordance with the Motor Carrier Safety Improvement Act of 1999. Their primary mission is to prevent commercial motor vehicle accidents. It is the FMCSA’s responsibility to enforce safety regulations, improve safety systems and increase safety awareness.
